UNIVERSAL OVERHEAD Cabinet 2003
The Universal Overhead Cabinet for Teknion was a multi faceted design solution combining a distinct visual character with technically universal mounting, functionally universal usability and a highly customizable finish program. The door introduces a curvilinear form language to the cabinet, while still retaining key elements of a rectilinear Teknion aesthetic. The cabinet can be mounted on any of Teknion's panel systems, based on a flexible interface for mounting brackets. The cabinet is fully operable from a seated position due to a patented mechanical linkage requiring minimal effort to open and close the door. And finally, a growing need for custom finishes was addressed in the construction of the cabinet door, accommodating a wide range of standard and custom finishes.
