Approach: Fig Industrial Design

approach

The first step to any successful project is the right design brief. The creation of the right design brief is a collaborative activity, and the beginning of our approach, regardless of project scale.

This first collaboration is to understand and describe the project’s unique needs: visual and functional requirements, its context, budgets, schedules, and key stake holders. This forms the basis of the project proposal and the road map for the entire project. It is in essence, the first design challenge.

The proposal describes 3 phases of development:

explore
Including Research and Idea Generation

design
Including Concept Development and Concept Validation

realize
Including Detail Design, Prototyping and Project Support

These phases describe the type of activities and deliverables that can make up each stage of any project. For a more detailed description of activities in each phase, follow the links to the right.
